Some DAMA/LXe results on 2β decay
A 2β decay process corresponds to two simultaneous β
transitions in a nucleus. Processes with emission of two antineutrinos have
already been observed in several nuclei by different experiments.
In models with neutrino Majorana masses, neutrinoless 2β decay processes - which violate the lepton number conservation - can also be considered. The investigation of similar processes allows to search for neutrino mass, for right-handed current admixture in the weak interactions, for neutrino coupling constant with Majorons, etc.. They represent, therefore, a powerful test for different extensions of the Standard Model of particle Physics (including several SUSY models).
In the following we summarize the results on ββ decay obtained by DAMA/LXe experiment.
