Artistic view of GLAST
This is the GLAST sensitivity compared with the othes
present and future detectors in the gamma ray astrophysics range
(the same figure in EPS , JPG
or TIFF )
(Weeks et al. 1996, excepting GLAST , ARGO and AGILE sensitivity). All
sensitivities are at 5s. The predicted sensitivity
of a number of operational and proposed Ground based Cherenkov telescopes,
CELESTE, STACEE, VERITAS, Whipple is for a 50 hour exposure on a single
source. EGRET, MILAGRO, GLAST and AGILE sensitivity is shown
for one year of all sky survey. MAGIC sensitivity based on the availability
of high efficiency PMT’s. More informations on the various experiments
here
Note that on ground only MILAGRO and ARGO will observe more than one
source simultaneously
This is the Energy range covered by the different experiments versus the activity period.
